Asperger service dogs are trained as ‘task specific’ dogs and as such meet the requirements in Companion Dog standard prior to undergoing their task specific training. People with Asperger’s Syndrome have some better skills in communication compared to people with Autism, but have difficulties in social interaction and comprehension. It means that they have better abilities in interaction with the community, but have still major challenges. We believe that service dogs should be part of the holistic approach to support people on the spectrum.
Adults and all ages of children are catered for in the training of our service dogs.
